Complete RFC 4918 litmus test suite compliance (basic 16/16,
copymove 13/13, props 30/30) by fixing six categories of failures:
- PropPatchOp: parse PROPPATCH in document order (RFC 4918 §9.2)
so that remove-then-set and set-then-remove yield different results
- Null namespace: resolve_name now correctly maps xmlns="" to empty-ns
QualifiedName instead of falling through to DAV: namespace
- Unicode chars: handle quick-xml 0.39's Event::GeneralRef for character
references (𐀀) — the parser emits these as GeneralRef, not Text
- MOVE preserves dead props: call rename_resource on MOVE, clearing
stale destination data even when source has no registered properties
- Malformed PROPFIND: return 400 when body lacks a complete <propfind>
element (test 2: bare <foo>, test 3: invalid xmlns:prefix="" binding)
- PROPPATCH document order: process ops via Vec<PropPatchOp> instead of
separate (sets, removes) to honour interleaved remove/set sequences
Standard CalDAV/CardDAV clients (Thunderbird, DAVx5, Apple
Calendar/Contacts) failed to connect, mounted collections read-only, or
could not discover address books, even though curl worked. Three
protocol-compliance gaps caused this:
1. Missing Basic-auth challenge on /caldav and /carddav.
The 401 returned for these surfaces carried no `WWW-Authenticate`
header (only /webdav did). Spec-compliant clients never send
credentials preemptively the way `curl -u` does — they wait for the
challenge — so Thunderbird never authenticated and failed with
"discovery failed" / 401. Extend the challenge to all DAV surfaces via
shared `is_dav_path` / `dav_basic_auth_challenge` helpers.
2. Calendars always advertised read-only.
The `current-user-privilege-set` write gate compared `owner_id`
against the literal string "current_user_id", which never matched a
real UUID, so `<D:write/>` was never emitted and clients mounted every
calendar read-only. Thread the caller's id through the CalDAV adapter
and grant write when the caller owns the calendar.
3. CardDAV discovery was incomplete.
There was no `/.well-known/carddav` route and the root PROPFIND
exposed neither `current-user-principal` nor `addressbook-home-set`,
so clients could not locate address books. Add the well-known redirect
and root/principal discovery responses mirroring the CalDAV adapter.
Adds unit tests for the auth challenge predicate, the calendar
owner/non-owner privilege split, and the CardDAV root/principal discovery
responses.

A REPORT multiget for a handful of resources previously listed the
whole calendar/address book (every row incl. ical_data/vcard) and
filtered by href in Rust with an O(N×M) substring scan. Large
collections paid full-table latency, RAM and DB CPU on every sync.
- Add find_events_by_ical_uids / get_contacts_by_uids through every
layer (domain repo trait → PG repo → storage port/adapter → use case
→ handler) using one indexed `= ANY($2)` query, mirroring the
existing single-UID lookups.
- Extract UIDs from multiget hrefs with a shared, tested
uid_from_multiget_href helper (percent-decoding, case-insensitive
extension strip, collection hrefs rejected). Exact UID matching also
removes the false positives the old substring filter allowed.
- CalDAV PROPFIND single-event path now uses the existing indexed
get_event_by_ical_uid instead of listing all events.
- Honour the already-documented limit/offset query params on
GET /api/address-books/{id}/contacts: optional ListQuery fields
thread through ContactUseCase::list_contacts to a paginated repo
query. Omitted params keep returning the full book (frontend and
DAV listing/sync paths unchanged).

Every CalDAV PUT/GET/DELETE of one .ics loaded the ENTIRE calendar —
every row including its ical_data — and filtered with .find() in Rust,
so importing N events cost O(N²) rows transferred. CardDAV did the exact
same in four places (PROPFIND of one .vcf, PUT existence check, GET,
DELETE), with three JSONB deserializations per discarded contact. The
indexed repo queries (find_event_by_ical_uid, get_contact_by_uid)
existed all along with zero callers.
Wire them end to end: new `get_event_by_ical_uid` /
`get_contact_by_uid` use-case methods (same access checks as
list_events / list_contacts, per the service-layer authz rule) exposed
through the storage ports and adapters, and the seven handler sites now
resolve one row instead of the whole collection.

Large uploads (e.g. ~800 MB ISOs) could OOMKill the process, even on
dedup hits, due to three separate full-file-in-memory paths:
- NextCloud PUT (/remote.php/dav) buffered the entire body in RAM via
body::to_bytes before any dedup logic, then re-wrote and re-hashed it.
Now streams the body to a temp file with incremental BLAKE3 and goes
through update_file_streaming (shared spool helper with the native
WebDAV PUT handler); peak heap is ~one HTTP frame regardless of size.
- DedupService::store_chunks materialized every new chunk's data in a Vec
before uploading. Now reads each new chunk by positioned I/O
(read_exact_at, off the runtime via spawn_blocking) just before its
upload; peak heap bounded to ~CHUNK_UPLOAD_CONCURRENCY x CDC_MAX_CHUNK.
- The upload spool used the OS temp dir, often tmpfs/RAM in containers
where its page-cache counts against the cgroup memory limit. Add
OXICLOUD_UPLOAD_TMPDIR to point the spool at real disk.
Also collapse a pre-existing clippy collapsible_else_if in carddav_handler.

The PROPFIND handlers (added in #153) handle the /caldav/{username}/ and
/carddav/{username}/ prefixes returned by discovery, but do so via an
expensive database call to distinguish usernames from UUIDs. The remaining
handlers (PUT, GET, DELETE, REPORT, PROPPATCH) don't handle the prefix
at all, causing 500 errors when standard clients (DAVx5, Apple Calendar,
Thunderbird) follow the discovery URLs.
This commit:
1. Adds a strip_username_prefix() helper that uses a UUID parse check
to distinguish collection IDs from usernames (no DB call needed).
2. Applies it to PUT, GET, DELETE, REPORT, and PROPPATCH handlers in
both caldav_handler.rs and carddav_handler.rs.
3. Refactors PROPFIND in both files to use the same UUID heuristic for
consistency, avoiding unnecessary database queries.
Includes 7 unit tests for the helper function.
- rate_limit: cache OXICLOUD_TRUST_PROXY_HEADERS in OnceLock<bool> to avoid
syscall on every request (~500ns → ~1ns)
- auth middleware: insert Arc<CurrentUser> instead of bare CurrentUser;
all 5 extractors now clone Arc (~1ns) instead of 4 Strings (~60-100ns)
- search_service: pre-compute query.to_lowercase() once before loops,
eliminating N redundant heap allocations per search
- JWT secret auto-generates and persists to <STORAGE_PATH>/.jwt_secret
- Remove setup token: first admin setup is open until system initialized
- Fix schema.sql: move CREATE EXTENSION pg_trgm/ltree to top
- Update login UI and auth.js to remove setup token fields
1. Share password bypass (HIGH): enforce password check in get_shared_link_by_token,
verify_shared_link_password now returns ShareDto only on correct password.
2. WebDAV MOVE ownership (MEDIUM): add assert_owner on destination parent folder
for file moves in both PathResolver and legacy branches.
3. Path traversal defense-in-depth (LOW): add reject_path_traversal() to WebDAV,
CalDAV, and CardDAV handlers rejecting '..' segments at HTTP boundary.
4. Setup race condition (LOW): atomic INSERT ... ON CONFLICT DO NOTHING in
try_claim_initialization prevents duplicate admin creation.
- Add type aliases (FileRow, FolderRow, FolderRowPaginated, FolderRowOptUser) to reduce type complexity
- Simplify redundant closures in app_password_handler and webdav_handler
- Remove needless borrow in auth_handler
- Collapse nested if/let chains in login_lockout, webdav_lock, auth, rate_limit
- Box LockEntry in acquire() Err variant to fix large enum variant warning
- Rename DeviceCodeStatus::from_str to parse to avoid should_implement_trait lint
- Add #[allow(clippy::too_many_arguments)] and #[allow(clippy::result_unit_err)] where appropriate
- Convert integration_tests from cargo feature to custom cfg attribute
- Add check-cfg lint config in Cargo.toml for integration_tests cfg
Remove async-trait dependency and use native Rust async fn in traits.
Replace Arc<dyn Trait> with Arc<ConcreteType> throughout the codebase
to enable monomorphization and eliminate dynamic dispatch overhead.
Key changes:
- Remove write-behind cache (no implementation existed)
- Fix should_transcode static method call
- Use ContactStorageAdapter directly instead of dyn AddressBookUseCase
- Clean up unused trait imports across services and DI
